Robe Marina

Lake Butler was once a natural lake, where fishermen moored their boats in Guichen Bay in the summer and pulled them up over the dunes to moor in Lake Butler during the winter. A channel to the sea was cut in 1964, making Lake Butler available for safe mooring all year round.

For casual moorings or further information, please contact Council's General Inspector on 8768 2003, 0429 799 614.

Currently 32 commercial fishing boats and 30 recreational boats moor in the lake. Other facilities include fuel bowsers, boat lifts via a straddle lift and hard standing boat storage area for repairs.

Robe Walking Trails

Starting from Long Beach, a 12km loop path is being constructed. When completed, the Loop Trail will allow people to use sections of the trail to access the town centre, the towns many beaches or just to enjoy the scenery of Robe while undertaking a healthy activity.

The existing path was informal, degraded and close to the cliff. The trail is being rebuilt as crushed limestone, suitable for wheels, and as an environmentally sustainable path further from the cliff edge.
